Angel’s Magazine is first and foremost a blog designed to help you by sharing practical, budget-friendly tips to enhance your decor. Whether it’s DIY tutorials, Scandinavian or industrial trends, summer kitchens, tarps, or privacy screens for your garden—you’ll find EVERYTHING here!
This website is particularly close to my heart because it’s not always easy to find the time, budget, and ideas needed to properly design your outdoor space. Yet, it’s such a shame not to maximize the potential of a balcony, terrace, or a charming little garden.
Welcome to your online garden decoration magazine!
My name is Angel, I’m 27 years old, and behind this blog lies a serious project: creating a garden decoration magazine. I grew up in the countryside, where I was accustomed to seeing my parents’ perfectly maintained and beautifully decorated garden.
When I first started living alone, I quickly missed that cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately, my junior-level salary didn’t allow me to replicate that garden decor exactly. So, I decided to launch this blog while working towards my own garden decor magazine.

Summer Garden: Making the Most of Your Outdoor Space
Summer is my favorite season. Admittedly, that’s not very original, but it’s true!
Relaxing on a sun lounger in the garden away from prying eyes, spontaneously inviting friends for a barbecue on the terrace, testing new equipment, and listening to that musician friend pull out a guitar and start singing with everyone sitting around the garden furniture… Ah, it’s my ideal season! Of course, having the perfect garden furniture definitely helps.
I recently bought my latest favorite: a hammock! It’s perfect—I love reading in it or enjoying a cocktail. It’s portable, so I can choose a sunny spot or a shady place to relax. Made from wood, it blends seamlessly with the landscape and adds charm to my little slice of paradise.
Home Decoration Passion
In recent years, home decoration has become one of the favorite pastimes for the French. Numerous TV shows and specialized magazines clearly illustrate this: we’re all crazy about decoration. Whether men or women, young or old, we all share this passion. Decorating your home yourself isn’t just about saving money—it’s about customizing your space, breathing life into dull rooms, and living in an environment that truly reflects your personality and evolves with you throughout life.
A personalized home is essential for feeling comfortable, whether alone, with a partner, or your family. Home is a refuge, a place to relax and spend quality time with loved ones. Decorating can even be therapeutic. Experts agree that decorating your home helps maintain internal balance and recharge your energy. For many, decorating is genuinely fulfilling, and seeing the results is even more rewarding. Living in a beautifully decorated space tailored to your tastes brings pride and joy.
Decorating My Small Garden
My small house is relatively new, and I felt it lacked natural charm and history. To add sentimental value, I decorated my home and garden so they’d feel as special as my family home.
My first step was building a wall around my terrace and covering it with a fabric canopy in a very Provençal style. The stone provides a rustic touch, while the stretched fabric brings a modern design without compromising charm. I absolutely love it!
Artificial Grass is Number One
You’ve probably noticed by now—I love gardens! However, I’ve always dreaded the maintenance involved with lawns. Grass looks fantastic, but in summer it turns yellow, requires lots of watering (not eco-friendly), and isn’t ideal for me. My solution? Artificial grass. A friend recently installed artificial turf from One Gazon, which stays green all year, requires no maintenance or water.
I finally decided to purchase artificial grass. My only fear was it wouldn’t look natural. Thankfully, I chose a highly realistic model with shorter, subtly colored fibers for a natural effect. And guess what? It only took me about an hour and a half to install, including breaks. Despite my clumsiness, the sellers reassured me that it’s safe even if my barbecue accidentally tips over. It’s also allergy-safe for my nephews—simply perfect!
Choosing Furniture for Home and Garden
For me, the garden is the ultimate relaxation zone. Comfort is essential for lounging quietly on my terrace. I carefully selected my furniture:
- A garden armchair: essential. Any material works, though I prefer wood. Add a good cushion, a great book, and coffee!
- A hammock: essential for naps.
- A swing seat: admittedly, between the hammock and swing seat, I indulge myself a bit—but we’re allowed to dream!
Caring for Wooden Garden Furniture
Tables, chairs, garden sheds, and pergolas are vulnerable, especially in regions like Alpes-Maritimes with wood-eating insects such as capricorns. Properly treating your wooden furniture against pests is easy with professional pest control services. Trying to handle it yourself usually leads to wasted time, expensive products, and limited success.
For example, the capricorn beetle lays 20-100 eggs, and larvae live 3-6 years, causing considerable damage unnoticed until it’s too late. Professional treatment includes brushing, high-pressure insecticide injections, and double fungicide spraying, ensuring your furniture’s longevity.
Fabric Canopies: Perfect for Any Space
To protect terraces or balconies, fabric canopies create shaded areas while allowing plenty of natural light. They add decoration and privacy—essential for successful decor. Available in various materials and colors, fabric canopies perfectly suit any garden style.
Recently, I admired my neighbor’s installation—a stunning result! Privacy is crucial for fully enjoying your garden, prompting me to invest in privacy screens and even order fabric covers for my parking area. I couldn’t resist!
Home and Garden Decoration Trends
Unhappy with your terrace? Need a refresh before summer? Go simple and natural: synthetic grass, planters, floral displays, and small decorative stones are trendy. Create your own zen paradise!
My Latest Crush: Sail Shades
My current favorite garden decor item is the sail shade mounted on a pole. This classic yet futuristic decoration brings the vibe of prestigious marinas right into your backyard. Placed strategically, you’ll feel like you’re aboard a luxurious yacht.
